Welcome to the new FRET BUZZ E-Newsletter from TFS!
The sweltering Summertime blues are back, but there are plenty of ways to beat the heat with a cool new Guild from the Newark St. Collection, or a Taylor First Edition GO, or you can cash in on cool Summer savings via Fender’s SUMMER SONIC BOOM going on now at The Fret Shop!

New Guild Newark St. Electrics have arrived!

Guild’s Newark St. Collection marks the return of eight classic Guild electric favorites from the 1950s and ’60s—once again putting the distinctive Guild styling and voice that helped shape popular music into the hands of today’s guitarists.

We already have the Guild Newark St. Collection Starfire IV, Starfire III, Starfire Bass and S-100 Polara in stock (the Manhattan sold as soon as it rolled in the door—sorry), so come on by the store or drop us a line for more info.

Fret Buzz v1.4 ~ Taylor First Edition GO's

NEW TAYLOR FIRST EDITION GO’s ARE HERE!

“Luxurious” is the word that master builder Andy Powers uses to describe Taylor’s new Grand Orchestra series, and he should know because he designed them. The GO family now includes the 700 and 800 series which bring to the table rich, robust Rosewood tones and bold note bloom, especially in the lower register. What separates the GO from other big-bodied guitars is how balanced the tone is from top to bottom, and unlike many jumbos that require an aggressive attack to get the top moving, the GO is responsive to a lighter touch, rewarding players who have a more dynamic playing style.

Just like the First Edition GO’s that debuted earlier this year (which sold almost as quickly as they arrived), The Fret Shop has procured two models that are already garnering a small fanbase amongst our staffers and regulars: The 718e with Vintage Sunburst finish, and the Natural finish 818e. We’re partial to the 718e’s smoldering good looks, yet the 818e has a thunder and rumble that resonates to your very core, especially when strumming an E chord with the guitar held against you. Both models sound and feel glorious, so either way you lean towards their looks, that unmistakable Taylor tone has got you covered.

This First Edition 718e features a Sitka Spruce top with Vintage Sunburst finish, AA-grade Rosewood back and sides, Adirondack Spruce bracing, bone nut and saddle, ivoroid Heritage Diamond fretboard and headstock inlay, ivoroid three-ring rosette, ivoroid binding, gloss finish body, Expression System electronics, custom First Edition label inside the guitar and First Edition case plate. The First Edition 818e features a Sitka Spruce top with a Natural finish, AA-grade Rosewood back and sides, Adirondack Spruce bracing, bone nut and saddle, pearl 800 series fretboard inlay, single-ring abalone rosette, curly maple binding, gloss finish body, Expression System electronics, custom First Edition label inside the guitar and First Edition case plate.
